DJGBC: Where are you from?

 K.D: Newark, Delaware

Bubbles: Rochester, N.Y

DJGBC: Tell us a little bit about Playground?

K.D: I actually came up with the Playground idea while was inside of a club. I have close friends who were in that lifestyle and I wanted to tell their story. It just so happens that Bubbles had submitted her manuscript to La Femme. Michele Fletcher thought it was a great idea if we collaborated together.

DJGBC: When and why did you begin writing?

K.D: Since 2007

Bubbles: KD and I had a great edgy concept for a book series we both were working on. Kd likes to call it Factional fiction. So we collaborated and joined ideas and created Playground. For me this was my first time being published. KD guided me through the process of writing a book

DJGBC: When did you first consider yourself a writer?

Bubbles: It’s crazy I’ve been “writing” for years but actually holding the finished copy of playground in my hands felt like complete validation.

K.D:  When I was published.

DJGBC: What inspired you to write your first book?

K.D: I started out in 2007 writing stories for a website called Nude Africa. Lol. I had a lot of fans and someone told me that I wrote a novel. They thought I should take it down and get it published. I did.

Bubbles: Like I said before factional fiction wink wink

DJGBC: Do you have a specific writing style?

K.D: I’m versatile.

DJGBC: How did you come up with the title Playground ?

K.D: Everyone came to play so…

DJGBC: Is there a message in Playground that you want readers to grasp?

K.D: We wanted people to see how two different females from opposite upbringings can end up at the same place.

DJGBC: How much of Playground is realistic?

KD & Bubbles: 85%
DJGBC: Are experiences based on someone you know, or events in your own life?

KD & Bubbles: Yes

DJGBC: What books have most influenced your life most?

K.D: I read all types of books. I like ones that are realistic but with an edge, the ones that talk about what most people like to sweep under the rugs.

DJGBC: Who would you consider a mentor?

Bubbles: Honestly I look to KD Harris for everything transitioning from Model to Author hasn’t been an easy thing to do but with KD and Michelle fletcher guiding me it’s been a pleasure.

K.D: Bubbles answered it for me.

DJGBC: What book are you reading now?

K.D: I’m in lab, so nothing.

DJGBC: Are there any new authors that have grasped your interest?

K.D: Jada Dior, she is going to blow people out the water with her rawness.

DJGBC: When is your next project Playground 2 going to be released ?

K.D: It was released December 10, 2011!

Bubbles: Yay!

DJGBC: Who has given you the most support in your writing career.

Bubbles: K.D Harris, Star and Michelle Fletcher

K.D: My fans

DJGBC: How long do you see yourself writing ?

Bubbles: Forever as long as I am living life and experiencing things I will be writing
K.D: Until I run out of ideas…(never)

DJGBC: What is the most difficult thing about writing?

K.D: I am my greatest competition. So far me it’s trying to make each project greater than the prior.

Bubbles: Making every word count and painting a picture with words so that the reader believes in the characters and the story taking them out of there life and into your book

DJGBC: Who is your favorite author ?

Bubbles: You have to forgive me I’m kinda bias KD Harris

K.D: V.C Andrews hands down.  There a many others as well.

DJGBC: Do you to travel much promoting your book(s)?

Bubbles: We are going on a full tour

DJGBC: Who designed the covers for Playground & Playground 2?

K.D: Dashawn Taylor

DJGBC: What was the hardest part of writing Playground?

K.D: Trying to get Bubbles to leak a few secrets lol

DJGBC: Do you have any advice for other writers?

KD & Bubbles: Never give up!

AUTHOR K.D. HARRIS

Author of the Poison Series and“I am a fox.”  (Miss Harris smiles) I mean my writing style is much like a fox in its nature.  It’s unexpected, it sneaks up on you, and I like it just like that.”  K.D. Harris is a 32 year old Delaware native, she attended Shaw University, and is a proud mother of two.  Don’t however allow this seemingly simple up bringing to fool you in anyway.  There is nothing simple or average about Ms. K.D. Harris or her literary works.  Which is why, it was no surprise when she on a whim, sent in her novel Poison to Cartel Productions and they signed her two weeks later.  Ms. Harris considers herself to be an extreme writer and she is absolutely right.  With the release of her newest novel Poison the world will soon be shocked, riveted, and blown away by the unexpected twist and turns found on each and every page of her book. Ms. Harris specializes in “Taboo Literature”, that’s right K.D. prides herself with being a writer unafraid to air the “dirty laundry” of life experiences.  However she offers life lessons to be learned for the decisions we make.  When asked how she plans on reinventing her writing style with time, she says “I am an extreme writer I always will be, but I don’t want to be stuck in one genre.  So look for me in the erotica section.” (We both share a laugh)  K.D. Harris is without the shadow of a doubt an awesome writer, who’s talent oozes form every page of her book.  Most importantly however she is a devoted mother.  K.D. says she never considered herself a writer although she always wrote.  “You know, I didn’t really believe in myself, but I pushed and did it, I wanted to show my babies to never be afraid to pursue your dreams, and now there is no looking back for me!”  K.D. Harris is a wonderful writer she’s cool down to earth, and for the first time in her life unafraid to be exactly what she is, a great writer.   But don’t take my word for it.
