About the book:
Angie “Swiss” Jones is not your typical female. She was born into a life of poverty that she never asked for. Her mother dropped her off at the local fire station as a newborn and her father could have been any of the local crackheads that she passed by on the daily. Jumping from foster home to foster home and living a life that gave her nothing, she was tired of it, she wanted more. She deserved more– she desired to live the life of the rich and famous.
Nothing was more memorable than the day she met Boogie. Boogie had the paper, the cars, the money, and the drugs that could help her with her come up– until an unfortunate turn of events happen to Boogie.
There’s a new dealer on the block… and her name is Swiss.

kimberlaA Sinful Calling (A Reverend Curtis Black Novel) Kindle Edition

Dillon hadn’t been called by anyone. He’d called himself and he wasn’t ashamed of it. But no good can come from . . .

A SINFUL CALLING

Two years ago, to everyone’s surprise, Dillon Whitfield Black, the secret son of Reverend Curtis Black, boldly moved back home, married a woman named Raven, decided he was going to become a minister, and then founded a church right in the center of his living room. Today he’s pastor of a 1,000-plus-member congregation, and new members are joining weekly. Sadly, behind closed doors, Dillon is far from being a saint. Dillon has become more like the man his father was thirty years ago-consumed with money, power, and lots of women. His family may have let bygones be bygones, but they continue to keep their distance.

Not Alicia, though. This daughter of Curtis Black joins Dillon’s congregation, leaving her father’s church behind. The family has forgiven Alicia for marrying Levi Cunningham, the former drug dealer she had an affair with, but once Alicia realizes they will never fully accept Levi, she decides to see her family less and less. She and Levi are truly happy, however, guilt from her betrayal of Phillip and its aftermath casts a shadow over their wedded bliss.
But when Raven decides she wants a higher position in the church and Alicia hides a devastating secret, the entire family is affected in ways they don’t see coming. In the end, no one will be able to trust anyone . . . and for very good reason.

DJ Gatsby interviews Author N’TYSE as she discusses her writing career & her new book Twisted Vows Of Seduction

ntyse 11. Where are you from? Dallas, Texas

2. Tell us your latest news? My latest literary contribution, Twisted Vows of Seduction, was released December 10. The next installment in this series is underway. I am also in gear to releases my first documentary feature film, Beneath My Skin.

3. When and why did you begin writing? I started writing a book to challenge myself. I considered myself a writer long before that when I was writing poems and my own music. When I started writing my first novel, it allowed me to stretch my imagination and I found joy in creating. I enjoy creating stories and characters that are complex and true to real life.

4. When did you first consider yourself a writer? As soon as I knew how to communicate and transfer my ideas and stories onto paper.

5. What inspired you to write your first book? The desperate need to escape my own reality.

6. Do you have a specific writing style? Yes. I prefer engaging my reader with a very significant event to capture their attention. If not an event, intriguing dialogue. I’m also a very graphic writer and I don’t hold back when it comes to the intimacy. Besides braving the taboo storylines, I believe that’s where I tattoo my signature.

ntyse my secrets7. How did you come up with the title? I truly don’t have a method to it. My titles just come to me.

8. Is there a message in your novel that you want readers to grasp? Yes. I want them to reflect on the things or people they take for granted and find a way to renew that appreciation. I want this series to remind readers of how our individual choices determine our outcomes. Oftentimes we like to shift blame when things happen or don’t happen, when in all honesty, we might be standing in our own way.

9. How much of the book is realistic? All my books are fictional with realistic elements. The conflict is plausible and they portray an accurate depiction of real life.

11. What books have most influenced your life most? Produced by Faith by DeVon Fanklin.

12. If you had to choose, which writer would you consider a mentor? Zane and Brenda Hampton.

13. What book are you reading now? Destiny’s Surrender by Beverly Jenkins.

14. Are there any new authors that have grasped your interest? Brandie Davis and Fabiola Joseph.

15. What are your current projects? My twisted series. The second installment, Twisted Vows of Seduction, released December 10th. I am also in the process of releasing my first documentary feature film, Beneath My Skin.

ntyse twisted16. Name one entity that you feel supported you outside of family members. OOSA Bookclub.

17. Do you see writing as a career? Yes.

18. If you had to do it all over again, would you change anything in your latest book? No.

19. Do you recall how your interest in writing originated? I’ve always loved to write but I didn’t answer the call to write a book until 2006. I was going through some personal issues at that time and writing was the perfect outlet.

21. Is there anything you find particularly challenging in your writing? Not being able to write as quickly as the ideas rush me is always frustrating. If I had to name a challenge, that would be it. Everything else about the process is pretty easygoing. There have also been times where I’ve been hit with the writer’s block flu. That slows my pace and interrupts the creative flow, but I always manage to pull myself out of it.

22. Who is your favorite author and what is it that really strikes you about their work? I have several favorites but the first person that comes to mind is Zane. I love that she’s a vivid writer and doesn’t hold back on the intimate details that readers like me appreciate. Her storylines aren’t the typical cookie cutter tales and her characters are daredevils. I love that!

23. Do you travel much promoting your book(s)? Not as much as I would like, however I do promote heavily in my hometown and online.

24. Who designed the covers? Keith with Marion Designs.

NTYSE 2013 125. What was the hardest part of writing your book? Killing off my main character Denise.

26. Did you learn anything from writing your book and what was it? I learned that I attach myself to my characters as if they were real people. I connect with them and become a part of their being. This was revealed to me when Denise died and I responded emotionally. It was my first time crying and writing simultaneously.

27. Do you have any advice for other writers? Don’t be afraid to invest in yourself if no one else will.

28. Do you have anything specific that you want to say to your readers? I thank you for supporting me in my endeavors and helping to bring out the best in me.
