Book of the Month April 2011″Two Tears in A Bucket” By Author Traci Bee
Betrayed by her cold, callous mother and abused by her pot-smoking, alcoholic stepfather, eighteen-year-old Simone Woodard is kicked out of the house like a bag of trash and left to survive on her own. While struggling to find a place, create a life, and establish an adult identity for herself, she captivates Kevin Kennard, a handsome, hazel-eyed felon. Simone’s beauty and purity make Kevin rethink his criminal path, but the action on the streets refuses to take a backseat to love.
Kevin’s fancy for the fast life, fueled by drugs, guns, and alcohol, lands him in prison for murder. While serving his sentence, he is relentlessly pursued by other women, but all he can think about is Simone, the one he left behind.
Simone’s world further crumbles when she loses her job, her apartment, and custody of her child—a child fathered by Kevin. At her lowest point, she is saved by an unlikely ally who refuses to let Simone wallow in self-pity. With his unfailing support and unconditional love, Simone slowly grows into the whole, powerful woman she was destined to be. But will her newfound strength be enough to get her through life’s continued and sometimes brutal unpredictability?
Two Tears in a Bucket is a soulful novel that reminds us how powerful and lasting the bonds of love can be, even among the harsh realities of urban life.

I thought this was going to be another typical “urban” fiction; to my delight it wasn’t (a welcome change). The story were interesting and sprinkled with comprehensive urban lingo which made it a good read…..I already recommended it to friends. ANXIOUSLY waiting for sequel “Another Tear”.
